This is the first in a series of four blogs about women’s hair loss, and will explain what you should do if you’re one of the many women effected by thinning hair or hair loss. With a few tweaks to your current beauty routine, you may be able to dramatically slow down your hair loss – or even encourage hair regrowth!
Save What You’ve Got
Don’t lose any more of your precious locks! The following suggestions will help conserve your hair and prevent further hair thinning or loss:
- Cleanse gently; use a shampoo such as Kérastase Bain Stimuliste GL, which gently cleanses the hair and promotes a healthy scalp environment
- Choose natural boar bristle brushes over metal or plastic brushes; they are much gentler on the hair
- Try to avoid using heat, but when you can’t avoid it, use an ionic blow drier which will dry hair faster and expose your hair to less damaging heat
- Always use protective cremes before using a curling iron or flat iron; ask your stylist to recommend a thermo-protectant product for your hair
